From mobile phones to server racks, inkjet printers to televisions.
We're able to take almost any kind of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE)

About the Service

We can provide a full service of collection, processing, data destruction and certification for both consumer and business clients.

The easiest way to get started is to fill out our IT recycling request form - you can also contact us if you have any queries beforehand or need help with how to fill anything out.

Contact us

We will be able to provide a quote prior to collecting the items - see below for full details on pricing and available rebates.

Once we have taken the items, we'll provide you with important documents to certify that the processing and recycling has been completed in accordance with regulations

We cater to both individuals (consumer) and organisations (business). Depending on what type and amount of IT equipment you have, we may be able to recycle it for a low cost, for free, or even with a cash rebate.

To start, contact us using the form below or via email/phone, detailing where you are and what WEEE you have. We can then prepare a quote according to your inventory.

You can drop off your items with us, or we can arrange a collection - both are free within the Portsmouth area. If you're further away, we can still arrange a collection or we can accept your items if sent to us.

Once we have your items, all units will be checked-in and verified against the inventory. Anything that requires data destruction will be kept in a secure location until the data destruction process is complete. At this point, we will also complete checks to see if any devices can be repaired or refurbished, and confirm any rebate you're eligible for.

Following this, all equipment that can't be salvaged is separated into constituent materials and handed to industry partners for use in new manufacturing. We always aim to follow the 3 R's: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle, in that priority. Currently, less than 2% by weight of EEE we handle has been processed for disposal (incineration or landfill).

Our Process

As part of our recycling process, we ensure that your data is secure and that all possible waste streams are handled properly.

All you need to do is provide us with a list of what you need dealt with (or your best estimation). We handle the rest, and will provide you with:

  • An inventory upon collection (or receipt if being sent to us)
  • A waste transfer note (if we transport your WEEE)
  • A data destruction certificate if required
  • A report of the eligible rebates from your equipment

The first step is to get in touch with us, so we can find out what devices you have and any specific requirements such as collection restrictions. We can then advise on the cost of the recycling service - whether that is paid, free, or attracts a rebate.

Once we collect the items, or you drop them off, we will provide you with an itemised inventory of the devices as well as a Waste Transfer note. Devices at our premesis are always segregated into two sections - those that have been fully erased and those that are still awaiting data destruction. This enables us to fully track which devices still have sensitive information and allows for a full audit trail.

Following data destruction, we can then provide you with certificates providing proof that your information has been erased properly. These documents are crucial for both parties in ensuring that data protection requirements are properly met.

If any of your devices are eligible for rebates, we will total up the value and provide you with a final invoice, or credit note. In most instances, the entire process will be free as even the residual value of the parts can cover our expenses

Recycling Frequently Asked Questions

If you have any other queries or need specific advice on recycling your IT equipment, we're happy to help. Get in touch using our contact form

We can recycle almost all types of Information Technology – from mobile phones and laptops to printers and monitors. We can also take accessories, like cables, keyboards and dongles.

If you have specialist devices, check with us when you get in touch so we can make sure we provide an accurate quote. In some instances, we won’t be able to handle certain very old equipment that contains dangerous or toxic chemicals

The price of our recycling services varies depending on the devices you have, how many, and their condition. We aim to refurbish and repair as many devices as possible, so if your devices are able to be re-used, we can pass that value on to you and sometimes even pay you and cover the cost of processing entirely.

Data destruction services can be provided free of charge for most devices. If your device is very old, or has legacy storage media (such as magnetic tape, floppy disks or similar) then we charge per device.

Get in touch for an accurate quote. Collections are free in the Portsmouth area for loads of more than five (5) devices. Most devices made in recent years will be able to be handled for free, or attract a cash rebate. Older devices may be chargeable.

As a registered waste carrier and authorised treatment facility for WEEE, we have strict obligations by law for what we can do with the hardware we receive.

Devices that can be repaired, will be, and devices that can be refurbished, will be, ready for resale into the economy. IT equipment that isn’t able to be reused is disassembled into any constituent parts that may be recoverable. Any individual hardware components that cannot be reused are separated into types of materials and sent for materials recovery recycling by specialist waste treatment providers. As a last resort, materials may be sent for incineration and energy recovery.

We must provide a Waste Transfer Note with any WEEE we collect, and we must also maintain records of any materials we pass on to other treatment providers as well, to ensure a full audit trail of any materials that are processed as waste. This ensures that none of the equipment passed to us ends up in unauthorised waste streams that might damage the environment or be unregulated by the environment agency.

Our licenses and authorisations to collect, handle and treat WEEE are contingent upon us following the regulations and keeping a proper audit trail of what we do.

Any device can hold sensitive data. If you need us to recycle devices that haven’t been erased, we can provide a complete data destruction service that will ensure that you receive certified proof that your data has been erased and won’t be able to be recovered (short of a national spy agency spending millions of pounds and thousands of hours to recover something on a single drive).

Even if your devices have already been factory reset, we will still run any storage media through a data destruction process so that we can be sure there is no sensitive information on a drive. If we’re not able to confirm this has been done (as might be the case with a damaged storage device) then we will physically destroy the storage.

Depending on the age and condition of your devices, there can still be a lot of value left in them. If you decide to recycle them, we pass that value on to first cover the cost of processing and data destruction. We can then provide a cash rebate on top of this back to you if the device is able to be refurbished and put back into the consumer market.

We generally offer rebates for devices that are only a few years old. Let us know what you have, and we can then provide a full breakdown of costs and if you’re eligible for a rebate. Rebates will be paid via bank transfer after data destruction is complete, to an account provided when you booked the service
